If you want your computers to continue to run properly and to avoid future problems, then the answer is Yes. We perform daily activities, as a part of our computer support, such as antivirus update and anti-spam update. Others are performed on weekly basis, like backup system check. And some activities are carried out monthly or several times per year, including security checks, patch installation, operation system updates, checks for malware and spy software, check the hard drives for bad sectors, etc. Usually, the lack of qualified computer and system support is the main reason to lose important information and then you are forced to pay many times higher for it.

No. Microsoft, and all other software developing companies, provide critical patches and software updates, but if you are not acquainted how to look for them or how to properly install them, you can easily turn into malware victim. Probably, the answer is No. If someone is doing well with computer applications, does not always mean that he can properly install critical patch, or to find and remove viruses, or install the proper updates for your computer. The IT technologies are quite dynamic and developing every day, the IT professionals are required to read and practice constantly so that they are up to date with all novelties. If a person has some knowledge, but does not use it every day to maintain computer networks and PCs, it is quite probable that he can cause more damages to your organization, than to help you.
