About Sofia Municipality Ilinden District

In 1988, Ilinden became one of the 24 autonomous districts included in the structure of the Sofia Municipality. The mission of the district is to bring together the activities of local self-government of the population on its land with the state development policy of the capital. Ilinden District is located in an area that covers 3,310 decares in the north-western part of Sofia and as of 29/02/2020 has a population of 36,038 people living in one of the oldest neighborhoods – „Ilinden“, „Sveta Troica“, „Gevgeliyski“ and „Zaharna fabrika“.
